What first drew me in was the strange power of a seed phrase itself. In the world of Bitcoin, a handful of ordinary words can control extraordinary wealth. That is already a fascinating technical reality. But for fiction, it offered something more: a way to connect code with memory, inheritance, and moral responsibility.
From the beginning, I knew I did not want the central mystery to be merely mechanical. I wanted it to reveal character, not just information. The real question was never only, “Can Geneva solve it?” It was also, “Who is she becoming as she does?”

That is where the mystery deepened for me. A recovery phrase may be generated algorithmically, and therefore beyond anyone’s ability to force into a chosen pattern.
